5 June 2019 micro apps watches
I’m trying to imagine a world where the Apple Watch completely replaces the iPhone for me, and I think I dig it. My iPhone is basically a glorified iPod for me in the sense it’s main uses are audio: podcasts through Overcast, music through Spotify, books through Audible, and news through the Economist. Reading (as opposed to listening to) news, taking and editing photos, web browsing, and dealing with email are some major things I’d be missing, but that’s okay. Maps through CarPlay is the one big sticking point for me. With that being said, I don’t currently own an Apple Watch because I prefer my dumb watch. But if all of those listening features were to become accessible through a stand alone cellular watch, which if they aren’t already I’m sure they will in the near future, it might be worth it.
