No surprise, sources say the actors will be speaking the original Shakespearean language. Of course they will. This is the guy who made Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson talk in 19th-century maritime dialect, and who researched Viking-era speech for “The Northman.” Nobody should expect otherwise from Eggers.

I really wish people would stop it with the Shakespearean English. Robert Eggers doing Romeo and Juliet actually sounds like a fun pairing, but I'm so tired of all the Shakespeare language—I get that it's lyrical and I'm probably supposed to think it's elegant, but I hate it so much.
