What makes this especially interesting is the focus on small- and mid-budget movies across all genres rather than chasing blockbuster tentpoles. With the pandemic and 2023’s SAG strike contributing to a thinner theatrical pipeline, AMC could help get more movies, which would otherwise remain orphaned, in front of audiences.
This is so cool. There are always so many small films that just feel impossible to actually watch. I don't have an AMC that close to me, so I hope they follow through and distribute to other chains as well. Just dedicate one screen to indie movies and put a new one on every week. It'd be glorious.
