Distinct and vibey
The name apparently means nothing (just highway in Italy).
Matthew Belloni of Puck and The Town always derides A24 and their fans because I believe1 it was started by some finance/private equity guys who seemingly saw a gap in the market and capitalized on it… so I guess his point is the vibe they have established is manufactured, but that entire premise seems ridiculous to me—everything needs to be built and they built something that puts control in the creatives hands and are one of the only places that consistently releases small to mid-budget movies that aren’t the same as everything else out there.
