I’m starting to think I may have been wrong and the Bulls were right in taking Patrick Williams over his teammate, Devin Vassell (who I loved and who started over PatWil at Florida St.) At this moment in time, Vassell might be the better player because of his extra year of experience, but PatWil moves around the court better, has greater touch around the rim, and the form on his jump shot is far superior to Vassell. PatWil is also an inch taller and has an extra 20lbs of muscle. So even though Vassell’s instincts make him a better defender today, the potential for PatWil, with his size, strength, and athleticism, is Kawhi level. Or maybe I’m just trying to make myself feel better about where the Bulls are right now before they lose 50 games in a 72 game season…
