14 August 2020 micro tv apple soccer

Watched the first three episodes of Ted Lasso tonight (the only three currently available), and while I’ll fully admit it’s not the greatest show; I loved it. In a way, it feels made for me, as an American who grew up with football around me, but has appreciated soccer much more for most of my life. In the grand scheme of things though, it comes back to the most important word in the last four years, which is empathy. It’s about a coach focused on the individuals rather than strategy or getting the win. About the utilitarianism of an organization to make things better for the greatest number of people possible. And that’s exactly what we need. (Disclaimer: the show really isn’t that deep, but it hits me right where I wanted right now.)
