forward Lauri Markkanen didn’t make his season debut until this past weekend because of an elbow injury.
The 7-foot Markkanen is perhaps the centerpiece of Chicago’s rebuilding plan, but Hoiberg won’t be around to see it through.
He finishes his tenure in Chicago, where he played for four seasons and had a long history with general manager Gar Forman.
I think it’s ridiculous to fire Hoiberg at this point of the season. When Hoiberg was initially hired, I hated the decision and still do. But you can’t fire a guy because they haven’t been winning when the team he has to work with is so awful.
If you are going to part ways with Hoiberg before he has even had a single game with all of his starters together, then maybe you should fire Gar Forman too. Gar should’ve been the first fired.
