The entire process so far has been relatively easy. I first decided to create a free WordPress site to see how I’d actually feel about having a website of my own, somewhere to write on a regular basis.
It didn’t take long for me to want to purchase my own domain for the site. Once I bought kordumb.xyz, I quickly realized WordPress would charge me to map my domain to it. This frustrated me greatly because if I wanted to pay a hosting service I would have gone straight to Squarespace, which I feel is far superior for my particular use case.
So I went and started a Squarespace trial because eight to ten dollars a month is on the pricy side for starting a website that will never generate any amount of income. At the time of this writing I have not yet begun to pay for Squarespace. However, after using the trial for only an hour or two, I already know it is inevitable for me to pay to keep this site, if only to give me something to do everyday.
