đŸ€– Business Insider reportedly tells journalists they can use AI to draft stories

The Verge

A dedicated FAQ reportedly addressed whether journalists can explicitly use AI to assist with writing first drafts. “Yes, but you must make sure your final work is yours,” it answered. The guidelines stressed final products must be the journalist’s own work, however, adding that journalists would be responsible for stories under their name.

What’s the end-goal here? Are journalists going to work themselves out of a job? Does BI think this will produce a higher quantity and quality of journalism? And what happens when AI starts training on all the AI journalism? Does the world just explode? Knowing management encourages the use of AI in writing—let alone allows it—is as clear an indicator you can give me to never visit their site again.

đŸ€– ChatGPT will guess your age and might require id for age verification

ChatGPT will now also apply different rules to teens who are using the chatbot.

ChatGPT used to be a far more restricted chatbot that would refuse to engage users on a wide variety of issues the company deemed dangerous or inappropriate. Competition from other models, especially locally hosted and so-called “uncensored” models, and a political shift to the right which sees many forms of content moderation as censorship, has caused OpenAI to loosen those restrictions.

Because, you know, why solve a problem and save lives when you need to stay competitive in our ruthless capitalistic society that cares more about number go up than actual human lives. Unless, of course, those human lives are aligned with us politically, then act outraged, but still do nothing to prevent it from happening again. Am I rambling and conflating two different things? You’re damn right!
