✖︎Pieces of the missing Titan vessel were found on the ocean floor, about 1,600 feet from the bow of the Titanic, the Coast Guard said.
Jeez.

✖︎Solid interview—he comes across as very calm, motivated, and humble. I’m super excited to see how his game develops in San Antonio in the coming years, especially given his, seemingly, willingness to learn.

✖︎CP3 to the Warriors is wild. Makes me think a Draymond sign-and-trade for Ayton is possible, allowing Wiggins to slide down to the 4. CP, Steph, Klay, Wiggins, Ayton—small, but pretty dangerous.

✖︎I’ve been thinking about going to a therapist for years, but the idea of going to a therapist gives me anxiety… this finally pushed me to do something and I found Brightside through my insurance provider…

✖︎Were basically still operating at chimp-like levels… You have a banana and somehow you still want everyone else’s banana.
This whole thing was great, but then again, I always love hearing Barry talk.

✖︎I know squat about Bookforum (or Artforum), but I went ahead and subscribed to it for a year to support the relaunch under The Nation.

✖︎Watched the season premier of The Bear S2 and it’s still so great. Picked up right where things left off and had me grinning through the whole thing.

✖︎Selim says he doesn’t “really understand” how the artificial intelligence works, but was fascinated with the ways in which the AI could translate the sense of foreboding he wanted for the series.
Similar to the premier, this feels like they just wanted to take a shortcut to get to that “sense of foreboding.” While I’ve seen some good uses of AI, this isn’t one of them.

✖︎Great review of the series premier and captures my thoughts as well. Felt rushed and never really grabbed me or gave me a reason to care.

✖︎Really dig these data visuals about where the fighting is taking place, plus this video diving into the data collection and analysis.

✖︎Lab-grown meat begins with cells taken from an animal. Those cells are then fed water and salt and nutrients like amino acids, vitamins and minerals. The cells then multiply in large tanks called cultivators or bioreactors. When harvested, the product is essentially minced meat, which is then formed into patties, sausage or fillets.
Honestly, pretty excited that “cell cultivated chicken” could be the big break through.

✖︎Don’t love posting stuff when I have no idea when or how to actually watch it, but Whack World was one of my favorite music projects and this sounds incredible.

✖︎But if anti-LGBTQ activists think they were successful in making their point, they may be sorry to learn Constellation Brands has shown its support for LGBTQ rights even more than AB InBev.

✖︎I haven’t seen Balogun play at all, but this has me quite excited. With Musah and McKinnie solidified as the defensive midfielders, Pulisic and Weah on the wings, and Reyna in the middle, all the US has been missing is a reliable striker. Defense is still wobbly, but hopefully that can improve alongside Dest on the right.

✖︎There’s no way this works for the Suns. Beal’s great, but he’s even more expensive than CP3, and they either have to go small at the 3 or Booker at PG. Not to mention they’ll have even less depth.

✖︎via: Studio Neat and I agree with them—having a legacy carmaker start to really put this tech on the streets (and not just some rando barking orders from the looney bin) could be the tipping point.

✖︎Not that he’s seen any success as an owner (or GM), but it’s still a bit of a bummer to see the GOAT give up his majority stake.

✖︎Finally got around to watching the finale of Mrs. Davis and boy, what a wild ride that was.

✖︎Though the team is mostly focused on generating minuscule amounts of electricity for wearable devices right now — already raising interesting new possibilities for consumer tech — the real question is likely to be how far the phenomenon can scale.
This is fascinating and I really hope we are able to see something to come to fruition from the science sooner than later.

✖︎Disinformation is distributed with the intent to cause harm, whereas misinformation is the mistaken sharing of the same content.
A great look at the information ecosystem and how researchers are looking into and attempting to get a handle on the rising problem of misinformation, especially now that things like ChatGPT are beginning to play a role.

✖︎Finally got around to this much talked about article. I really dig what Byline is trying to do, but they definitely need to pay the writers.

✖︎Not sure how I missed this when it was released in April, but every Black Thought project is a must listen.

✖︎Haven’t played around with this yet, but it’s another attempt at “healthy” social media from Jimmy Wales (Wikipedia); seems to be going for something akin to both Reddit and Twitter.

✖︎We have tons of subscriptions, but my wife is pretty adamant that news should be free, while I’m more conflicted, wanting journalists to get paid. As a solution, I think every American should get a stipend to spend on news sites—there are some complications such as which sites would qualify, but I think it’s a solvable problem.
