But in a few years, it’s possible that a bunch of airplanes start crashing for the same reason, because someone decided that pursuing their individual goals was more important than upholding their responsibility to everyone else.

A solid overview about how it’s not as bad as it seems since the clauses/reasons aren’t the same. Two things that don’t seem to be addressed here: 1) what if this rate continues? 2) while each crash might not be for the same reason, could the continued strain of chaos on top of the usual stress of keeping the sky safe be an underlying root cause?
