24 January 2024 lists music albums
Typical disclaimer that most anticipated is a bit of a crapshoot because we have no idea what’s actually coming in the back half of the year.
If you missed it, I published my 2023: đź’˝ Top Ten Albums list yesterday.
in no order, limited to five
TANGK by IDLES, Loss of Life by MGMT, Live from Malibu by Yussef Dayes, The Great Bailout by Moor Mother, Star Line Gallery by Chance the Rapper
also on Album Whale
I also had a new album from Thundercat on my 2023 list, which never came… hopefully it comes this year… I feel more confident that it actually will this year…

Their first album since 2020’s Mordechai. Khruangbin have a great laidback psychedelic sound, so it’ll be exciting to see what they’ve come up with since Mordechai and their work with Leon Bridges.

I’m not going to lie, I don’t know how I actually feel about The Smile, but for some reason I’m still excited for their second release.

Whack World was/is one of my favorite rap projects ever. 15 minutes of hilarious, delirious, and absolutely killer raps. This will be Tierra Whack’s first full length LP.

Every Waxahatchee release is a banger and the first single from this one makes me think only the best is in store for us.
