☄️ 2023: Top Ten Most Anticipated TV Shows

23 January 2023 tv top ten anticipated

On the heels of my 2022 Top Ten TV Shows, I’ve got a list of my top ten most anticipated shows of 2023, plus a jumbled list of other shows slated for the year.

Most Anticipated

This list can also be found on Trakt

  1. Mrs. Davis S1 (Peacock) - April 20

Nuns, AI, Damon Lindelof. Feel like there isn’t much else I need to say.

  1. Bupkis S1 (Peacock) - TBD

Pete Davidson doing the whole 30min auteur dramedy a la Louie, Master of None, Better Things, etc. Could be great, could be disastrous.

  1. Citadel S1 (Amazon) - TBD

Apparently quite the undertaking here: an expansive and groundbreaking global event comprising a mothership series and several local language satellite series.” Russo Bros. are involved as well.

  1. Wool S1 (Apple) - TBD

Based on the sci-if book of the same name by Hugh Howey. The show is created and written by Graham Yost (Justified).

  1. The Three-Body Problem S1 (Netflix) - TBD

Another one based on a sci-fi book. I actually read The Three-Body Problem and am interested to see how they translate it to the screen as it didn’t pop as something quite suited for television.

  1. Poker Face S1 (Peacock) - January 26

Kicking off this week so we don’t have long to wait. I’ve talked about this one multiple times, but Rian Johnson, Natasha Lyonne. I’m ready.

  1. Secret Invasion S1 (Disney) - TBD

Hate on Marvel all you want (I do as well), but I’m quite excited for this as it feels like it could be the first big event for Marvel on the small screen.

  1. Succession S4 (HBO) - TBD

We can’t focus entirely on new shows, can we? And Succession is obviously one of the reigning champs of the tv world. What more do I need to say.

  1. The Last of Us (HBO) - January 15

Obviously a little late getting this list out since my #2 most anticipated show has already premiered, but so far it’s living up to the hype I had for it and I can’t wait to see where it goes as someone who didn’t play the game. You should definitely be watching this.

  1. Yellowjackets S2 (Showtime) - March 26

The return of my favorite live action show from 2021 is easily my most anticipated show for 2023. I cannot wait to see where the creators take this one.
