For that matter, I think it’s only a matter of time before the Criterion Channel becomes a venue for new art-house releases.

This is what I’m waiting/hoping for. To have those non-major studio movies that I’m always rushing to see at the end of the year before Oscar nominations. It’d be great if Criterion had deals with the likes of A24, Neon, etc. to be the home of the high brow1 films2.

  2. I don’t even know if these would be considered art-house, which is what the quote refers to, but it’s immediately where my mind went and what I’ve been hoping for once I realized Criterion Channel had movies after 2010.↩︎
