Manchester United have told Inter Milan it will take £80 million to sign Romelu Lukaku, sources have told ESPN FC, as the striker is the top summer target for Antonio Conte, who is set to be announced as Inter’s new manager imminently.
I’d love to see Lukaku move to Inter, but I have trouble seeing them willing to pay £80m despite the fact United bought him for £75m from Everton.
Ever since Lukaku, along with Hazard and De Bruyne furiously attacked Bazil’s Casemiro-less midfield during the World Cup, I’ve been a fan. Although he lacked the finishing prowess this past season during a tumultuous United season, his history of finishing, still at a young age of 26, along with his speed and strength, go a long way to being an effective player leading an attack. Just go watch those Belgium/Brazil highlights. He was at the center of all the action and scared me shitless as a Brazil fan.
And while I don’t have any allegiances in Serie A, I randomly selected Inter as a team to root for, in order to have some vested interest in the league. 🤷♂️
