Updated to include ye. It ultimately fell flat for me but given my disdain for Pablo, I put ye a notch above it. Wouldn’t Leave and No Mistakes were the two tracks I thought were better than the rest, followed by Ghost Town, which seems to be the consensus favorite. None of these three tracks would even crack the top ten if they were included on a different Kanye album.
My initial thoughts from my Microblog:
ye is fine. Besides The Life of Pablo, it’s probably Kanye’s worst album. Where Pablo is manic and schizophrenic, ye is depressed and uninspired. They are complete opposites but related in more ways than one. Neither can stand alongside the rest of his discography though.
